"All India Moral Awaking Campaign" was organised under the umbrella theme of "Global Cooperation for a Better World",  the campaign was launched in 67 places in August, 1989, with its finale in New Delhi on 24th September, 1989, for creating an awareness for the eradication of drug abuse, blind faith, superstition, slavery to sense organs and harmful traditions. Exhibitions, lectures, seminars and creative workshops were conducted in hundreds of schools, colleges, youth clubs and other social service institutions.

Governors, Chief Ministers, dignitaries, Ministries, youth institutions from many states hosted receptions and encouraged the youth in rendering such noble services. Mr Gamil Handi, Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), said that the institution is working with such determination and dedication that it will surely bring divinity in India. In his words: 'the institution is working for preparing "real humans".'

Smt. Anjana Kanwar, Dy. Mayor of Delhi, remembered the days of chaos and peacelessness at the time of the death of Smt. Indira Gandhi and recalled how the Brahma Kumaris Youth Wing was the first to set an example by organising a Peace Rally in Delhi.


National Essay Competition 1989:

A national essay competition for the youth following the disciplines of the institution was organised in 1989. The subjects were, 'The Role of Youth in World Transformation', 'Tension Free Life and Importance of Moral Education in Life'.    

       

National Elocution Contest 1990

An elocution contest was the National project undertaken in 1990. Even though the country was in turmoil during that period, the contest was quite successful. Noteworthy entries were received from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The final contest took place in Oct. 1990 at Mt. Abu.
